The business session of
the Oklahoma Annual Conference begins on Monday, May 26 and continues through Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Boston Avenue United Methodist Church in Tulsa,
Oklahoma. Any youth attending conference with their parents may attend all scheduled YAC events. The cost for youth ages 6th through 12th grade is $70, if you register by May 12. After May 12 registrations will be accepted only if room is available and a $30 late fee will be charges in addition to the $70 fee. If you register and pay the $70 fee, and discover that you need to cancel, refunds will not bemade but you may transfer your registration to another person. Some of the activities planned include: indoor rock climbing, a daily mission field trip, laser tag,
and lunch and games – one day – at Incredible Pizza. Registration forms will be included in the pre-conference delegates packet, but you can contact Ann Browning by e-mail at

youth, youth workers planning to attend General Conference in
Fort Worth, Texas.
The Central Texas Conference and the North Texas Conference are
sponsoring
a dinner and entertainment evening.
It is come and go, with local student bands/artists/youth
groups providing some entertainment and some local cuisine.
It will be a great time to fellowship with other youth and youth
workers from around the connection. Let me know if you are
attending General Conference and
would like to come. Transportation will be provided to/from the
Convention Center.

Annual Training Day for Youth Workers
On Thursday, August 14, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
the Department of Youth Ministries is offering a
training day for all youth directors and adult workers
with youth. Continuing education is an important part of
a healthy ministry. The training will be held at the
United Methodist Ministry Center at 1501 N.W. 24th St.
in Oklahoma City. The day will begin at 9 a.m. with a
light breakfast and fellowship time. Lunch will be
provided. Our guest speaker this year is Rev. Michael
Ratliff. Ratliff serves as the associate general
secretary of the Division on Ministries with Young
People. The division was created by the 2004 General
Conference, and it works with local churches, annual
conferences, jurisdictions, and central conferences on
issues related to young people. An accomplished author,
workshop leader, and curriculum.

Project NOAH
is an outreach ministry of First UMC of Slidell,
Louisiana. They take youth, age fourteen and older, and
rebuild and repair houses that have been damaged by
Hurricane Katrina. It is a missions camp that is
dedicated to rebuilding the Greater New Orleans Area,
hence Project New Orleans Area Hope. This ministry is
giving hope to homeowners while taking youth and proving
they can make a difference in this world.

Chrysalis Flights
Chrysalis Flights are open to any youth who is
a sophomore in High School through Freshman in college.

On the Flight the youth will experience awesome worship, have
lots of fun and hear a series of 15 talks by clergy, adults and
youth on how to grow closer to Christ and how to be a better
