What is a Mission Site?
Utilizing Volunteer Missioners, much needed parsonages, churches, learning
centers, foster homes, campus ministry centers and other facilities are being
built or refurbished for local churches and ministries of both the Oklahoma
and Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conferences of the United Methodist Church.
Volunteers can provide up to 90% of the labor, resulting in 40 to 45% savings
in construction costs for the local churches and ministries of the two United
Methodist Conferences. This makes possible many ministries that otherwise
would not have been affordable.
The Mission Site Team
The Mission Site Team's purpose is to: evaluate and plan, consult and communicate, develop and prepare, organize and oversee mission projects. Quality work is accomplished with experienced volunteers leading the way for all the other dedicated volunteers.....
(MST) consists of at least two key local people along with other local support personnel.
One of the greatest needs in our ministry is the development of a volunteer
force of Mission Site Teams and individuals, who make sites ready for the
receptions of VIM Mission Teams to come and serve.
Mission Site Host (MSH) is the local coordinator who
helps teams with lodging, meals, and hospitality.
Mission Site Coordinator (MSC) is the local coordinator of the construction part of the mission project.
Consulting Mission Site Coordinator is the third key individual to insure mission projects are a success. This volunteer is an experienced construction person who assists the MST support personnel.
We are presently looking for several key volunteers to come and serve as Consulting Mission Site Coordinators. Call us if you would like to serve others.
