Matamoros
Matamoros is a city and its surrounding municipality in the northeast of the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. It is located across the Rio Grande from the U.S. state of Texas. In the 2005 census the city of Matamoros had a population of 422,711. The city is at an important geographical location and acts as U.S.-Mexico border town, across from the city of Brownsville, Texas.
