Campaigns

We are inviting people with vision to partner with us in a unique, God-given opportunity to be a part of the life-changing work God is doing through Oklahoma camping both today and in generations to come. A lodge is to be built at both Egan and Cross Point Camp. A welcome/cafeteria center with meeting and dining capabilities is to be built at Canyon Camp. Contact our office for more information on these projects.

We have a scholarship account which help campers in need in attending camp. We need your help to make this fund a vital ministry tool.

Our staff watches our expenditures carefully to ensure we are being good stewards. With your help we can make our operational funds go further. Contact the Camp Director to acquire an items list.

Schedule a camp speaker

The Camp and Retreat Ministries have speakers that are available to come to your church and share information about camps in a Sunday school, worship service, or with other groups Here is a list of people to contact to schedule a speaker. Celebrate Camps Sunday

The Annual Conference recommends special days to be observed by the churches through publicity, services of worship, and offerings. (Many churches include these offerings as part of the church budget.) Camps Sunday is one of these special Sundays Promote camping programs in your church. Safe Sanctuary Screening

The Oklahoma Conference of the United Methodist Church is committed to safe camp experiences for all our campers. As a volunteer or member of one of our camps, you are being called to undergo background screening to ensure that you, too, are committed to creating safe communities of faith.

 

The resources here are intended to assist local leaders in this process.

 

How to Volunteer

As always, we need volunteer leaders and leaders in training for all camps. You must be willing to work with and care for the campers, share your faith, and enjoy camp life.

You will be required to complete a Safe Sanctuary Screening which includes a background check.

Indicate the age group(s) you want to work with and which camp site(s).

Contact the dean of the camp(s) you wish to volunteer. See the Summer Camp Book for contact information on the Deans.

Event Directors & Camp Dean Training

This online training will complete your training requirement.

It is divided into seven sections and you can go through the whole unit at one time or through one or two modules at a sitting.

Local Church Camp Coordinator

The camping coordinator is an active and creative advocate for camping ministries.

Description

 

You can be a Ray of Light

We have come to an exciting point in our

"Lighting the Way, Warming the Heart" campaign for camps that is improving our camp sites and enhancing our camp programs.

We are moving forward, but we need your help to reach our final goal.

Every United Methodist in the Oklahoma Conference has the opportunity to be a part of this campaign.

You can become a "Ray of Light" by pledging $100 a year, or more, for three years. Youth groups, Sunday School classes, Individuals, and others are encouraged to take the challenge and help push us over the goal line.

We can do it if everyone helps. Please consider being a "Ray of Light" for our camps and help us to "pass on God's love" to our future campers.
