Oklahoma

In the Oklahoma area are opportunities for you to serve Jesus Christ and be personally involved in fulfilling a real and great need. You may be working with people from other churches throughout your area as well as other areas in Oklahoma and neighboring states. You can count on having a great experience with fellow volunteers while enjoying the fellowship of God's wonderful family. If you feel you can serve Jesus Christ by being part of a mission team, opportunities are available to you and all skilled construction people, teachers, cooks, and those with various gifts. Skills are optional. Willing hands are necessary. There will be work for every person who is willing to participate.

Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference and the Oklahoma Conference operate as sister conferences and share the same bishop. Most of the work will be new construction or repairs for the OIMC. Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference (OIMC) was organized and established in 1844 to serve "distinctly Indian congregations" in Oklahoma. The boundaries have since been extended to include four churches in Kansas and one in Dallas, TX. Today there are 89 congregations in OIMC. Many of the congregations are small and include less than 50 members, frequently located "at the end of the road" in very rural areas. Others are small churches located in small cities and towns, while a few larger churches may be found in bigger cities. These missions are an opportunity for you to serve Jesus Christ and be personally involved in fulfilling a real and great need, while learning about the wonderful heritage of our Native American Christian brothers and sisters.

Barn Raising -Various types of ministry mission opportunities in rural settings Throughout the year, Oklahoma VIM works with the local churches of the Oklahoma Conference to determine unmet needs of their physical facilities in which VIM assistance may be utilized.

National Sites

Oklahoma VIM has expanded its mission coordinating expertise to cover the entire U.S.A., meeting vital physical and spiritual needs of some very deserving people. This enables the missioners who contact us a wider choice of places to serve in mission. Our goal is to establish new mission sites and develop new relationships for sending future teams to each of the six UM Jurisdictions. These sites promise wonderful opportunities for those ready to share the love of Christ through mission outreach. Join us in this exciting time, teaming up with us, or on one of the hundreds of other sites listed on the national UMVIM

The Alaska Missionary Conference is a wonderful opportunity to combine a visit to beautiful Alaska, and serve God by participating on a mission that will help many churches

Oklahoma VIM sends out several teams to Alaska. Rodger Kinzie is a dedicated team leader who goes year after year. He shared this link with me. Click here: Here is the link to the Alaska UMC web page

Serve, worship or join our community groups and you'll be a part of a movement looking to awaken generations to serve, a city to hope, and the world to transformation through the grace of Jesus Christ. We believe you have gifts to share. We believe the city needs you. The church needs you. Join us as we respond to Gods call. Now is the time to Awaken the City. We have just one question, are you awake?  Jun 7, 2013
