
DERT Trailer Specifications
• We will have two 16’x6’x6’8” trailers
and the remaining trailers will be either 14’x6’x6’8” or 12’x6’x6’8”
• The ERT Trailers are to be identified as Cargo Trailers in kind, and will contain at a minimum the tools listed on the attached sheet. Each district’s trailer can contain additional tools, beyond those on the list, as they see fit and depending on the disaster to which the trailer and team will be responding.

• A laminated list of tools and a laminated diagram of tool location will be
posted in each ERT Trailer.
• The interior design of the ERT Trailers can be determined by each district.

• Given that the ERT Trailers will weigh 4,000-4,500 lbs the ERT Equipment
Maintenance person must check the towing vehicle’s manual for towing weight
capacity. If a vehicle’s manual does not state a towing weight in accordance
with the ERT Trailer weight, the vehicle should not be used for towing the
ERT Trailer.
• The vehicle pulling the trailer must have brake controls.

• Each trailer needs to have a ladder rack, stabilizing jack on the back, a
spare tire with jack, ramp door on the back, and a side door.
• ERT Trailers must have dual axles and at least one axle must have a brake. Electric brakes are preferable, but surge brakes are optional.
