Hurricane Victims—TWO Years Later, after Hurricane Katrina and Rita hit the Gulf Coast thousands of volunteers have served, but literally thousands of victims are still living in temporary housing.

 

The Gulf Coast residence in Alabama/West Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas need your help to recover from the most devastating hurricanes in recent history in our country. ---- Construction & Service


Kansas, Greensburg

 

Kansas was hit heavily by deadly tornadoes May 4, 5 and 6, 2007. These violent tornadoes demolished more than 95 percent of the town of Greensburg and caused heavy damage to other communities, including Trousdale, Bennington and Longford.

 

The Greensburg and Trousdale UMCs were destroyed. DERT Teams have finished their work and now Recovery VIM Teams will begin their phase of assisting the residents of Greensburg on their road to recovery. --- Construction & Service


Louisiana, Dulac

 

Houma Indians —The Dulac Louisiana Community was one of Hurricane Katrina and Rita’s many victims. The Dulac Community Center is a non-profit organization that provides social service programs and emergency relief referrals

 

. It is a mission project of the GBGM and the Louisiana Annual Conference. Mission teams of all ages will serve the Houma Indians, a very low income Native American Community. Construction, Service, MBS
