The city of Puebla – officially the Heróica Puebla de Zaragoza (heroic Puebla of Zaragoza), and nicknamed Puebla de los Ángeles or La Angelópolis – is the capital and largest city of the state of the same name with a population of 1,399,519. Puebla is an important industrial, cultural and educational center of Mexico for the central and south-east regions. It is also one of the oldest colonial cities in the continent.
