Isaiah 58: Join the Call to Stand in Prayer for Immigrants in Arizona
Arizona's law, SB 1070, goes beyond what is in federal legislation and will give a high likelihood to racial profiling. It will criminalize people of faith who provide transportation or who "shield" in a building any undocumented person. This legislation will make it illegal for United Methodists in Arizona to give undocumented immigrants a ride to church or to care for them within their church buildings.
The Isaiah 58 National Solidarity Vigil & Fast for Arizona
will consist of weeks of rolling prayer.
Each week has a small group of states assigned to it.
