C.Y.M.E.
Worship is...
July 2-6-Cross Point
Entering Grades 9 - Graduated Seniors
C.Y.M.E. (Conference Youth Ministry Enterprise) is a leadership training camp for local church youth. The camp is serious business with non-stop intensity and excitement. It will push youth to the limits of Christian community, leadership skills, discipleship, peer ministry and hearing their call in Christ. This year youth will be taught how to look at worship as more than a service.
The goal of the camp is to give the campers resources and knowledge on how to lead worship, put together a service, what worship is, and much more!
The Youth "Lay Speaking course" will be offered during workshop times at camp. If you wish to take this course, there will be an additional cost of $10 to be paid upon arrival at camp. For information contact (405)530-2199.
Challenge Course form required—the ropes course fee is included in the registration fee and everyone will participate and needs to fill out a the form.
There is a limit of 4 campers from each church (a church can send more than 4 if the other campers have been active on CCYM and are cleared by the adult co-chair as meeting the attendance requirements for CCYM)
To attend CYME, all campers must have a signed "Recommendation Form"

High Adventure Treks
Youth entering 9-12 grades

Youth will experience the majesty of God's creation and create a Christian community while living in the outdoors. This physically challenging adventure will help youth develop personal and team skills. In nature's classroom, youth will learn how to cook outdoors, read a compass, manage a low impact camp and maneuver through the wilderness.
Trek 1: Backpacking in the Roosevelt National
June 22-30
Campers: $ 500
Spectacular views, wildlife and miles of untouched forests make Colorado's Roosevelt National Forest, located just outside of Ft. Collins, an amazing place to experience God's presence.
Skills required: Participants must be able to hike several miles daily over mountainous terrain with a 45-50 lb. backpack.
Trek 2: Paddling in the Boundary Water Canoe Area between Minnesota and Ontario
July 27-Aug. 4
Campers: $675
The BWCA is a land of forests, rivers, beautiful lakes and wildlife. Early in the morning when you unzip your tent mist covers the water and, if you are quiet, you may see elk coming to drink, eagles soaring during the day, and hear the haunting cry of the loons.
Skills required: Participants must be willing to learn the proper paddling technique and be able to work as a team of two, paddling several miles a day. Portages require teams to carry their 75 lb. canoe short distances across land to the next lake.

Join other grads (those who graduated from high school this year) from across our Conference for the first-ever "Grad Weekend!" We will have special speakers (Bishop Hayes to kickoff the event plus a few others), games and a chance to meet new friends as you embark on this new chapter of your life.

July 6-10 - Cross Point
Entering Grades 6, 7, and 8
Journey is a NEW discipleship camp for students entering 6th-8th grades in the fall of 2012. The camp will engage students on a spiritual journey, and is designed to encourage students as they make the next step along a discipleship journey in a relationship with Jesus Christ. This may be making a profession of faith or learning how to live out faith daily through examining two primary questions. 1.) Who do you believe Jesus is? 2.) How does my belief affect my life's habits, priorities and choices?

Amazing Grace: United Methodists are Full of It
June 18-22 - Canyon
Entering Grades 6, 7 and 8
Using the model of teaching leadership skills through active participation, J.E.M. (Junior High Effectiveness Ministry) Camp, offers training to junior high youth. J.E.M. Camp is designed specifically with the junior high youth in mind. It is the goal of this camp to develop leadership skills that can be used immediately. For more information contact (405)530-2199.

Wilderness
Building New Community
June 14-20 - Canyon
Entering Grades 7-8
Wilderness Camp is a unique seven-day, six-night adventure in creating a Christian community while living in the out-of-doors. It is a challenging adventure to develop relational skills: listening to others, expressing your own needs/ideas, caring for others, and making inclusive group decisions. There are many things youth will learn in this outdoor experience, including community building, camping skills, and learning to care for creation. This year's theme "Room for us All" emphasizes inclusiveness, with a focus on bullying.
This camp is limited to those who will be in the 7th or 8th grade in the fall of 2012 and limited to the first 32 youth who register.
Campers: $210
Deadline May 18, no refunds after May 25. Disregard "roommate" on registration form.

It is with great anticipation that we invite you to come and experience Dayspring Camp. As you can tell the Spirit of God has blessed this ministry and we have three camps for you to select from this summer. If you are looking for a camp that lifts up the name of Jesus and has lots of fun and laughter this is the camp for you. We do our best to have worship that will lift you up and activities that will strengthen your walk with the Lord. Contact any of the deans below if you have any questions about these camps.

Under the Stars and Over the Edge
A weekend retreat for stargazing, hiking, rappeling and enjoying God's unique beauty in Red Rock Canyon
Oct. 5-7
Youth entering 9-12 grades
Overcommitted? Stressed Out? Maybe you need to UNPLUG for a weekend and rest in the beauty of God's Creation!
During the weekend we will enjoy beautiful Canyon Camp, worship under the stars(complete with telescopes!) and spend time climbing, rappelling and hiking in Red Rock Canyon. We've invited two climbing experts to be our guides and teach us what we need to know before flinging ourselves over the rim of the Canyon. No special equipment is needed. We'll be sleeping in cabins at night and eating most meals in the dining hall. Register quickly, space is limited.

Watch for 2013 Dates
For 6th, 7th, & 8th grades
Many churches, due to a variety of reasons, are not able to provide a confirmation experience for their children and youth. This Conference-wide confirmation retreat is a response to that need. If your church has a confirmation program, the retreat is not to replace your church's confirmation, but to be an enhancement.
Churches may use the retreat as a "kick-off" or a "wrap-up" for their confirmation classes. In addition, it will provide an opportunity for their youth to enjoy the fellowship and interaction with other UM youth who are exploring their faith and call to commitment.
