Mobile Day Camp: Counselor

Responsible To: Team Leader
Position Purpose & Description: To deliver a high quality and high energy transformational mobile day camp experience.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Attend staff orientation.
  • Deliver Monday–Friday day camp program in a local church.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with campers and local staff/volunteers
  • Serve in other areas as needed.
  • Maintain positive attitude in the face of adversity and change.
  • Deliver weekly day camp experience in 8 separate locations around the state of Oklahoma.
  • Participate in end of summer debrief and celebration.
  • Ensure adequate camper safety at all times.

Qualifications:

  • 18 years or older
  • Day camp experience or experience working with children
  • Flexibility
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A positive, energetic attitude
 
Site Program Staff

Position: Program Staff
Responsible To: Site Director
Position Purpose & Description: To deliver a high quality and high energy transformational camp experience.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Attend staff orientation and site training.
  • Deliver camp programming at an OKUM Campsite (Canyon, Cross Point, or Egan).
  • Meet with Site Director and Camp Deans regularly to determine needs and responsibilities.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with campers and guests.
  • Serve in other areas as directed by Site Coordinator such as housekeeping, maintenance, and food service.
  • Maintain positive attitude in the face of adversity and change.
  • Responsible for set-up, security, inventory, and tear down of camp program equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in end of summer debrief and celebration.
  • Ensure adequate camper safety at all times.
  • Live in community with other camp/program staff.

Qualifications:

  • 18 years or older
  • Camp experience or experience working with children
  • Flexibility
  • Ability to deliver high energy relational programming
  • Good organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
