Camp Promotional Ideas

CREATE A CAMP MEMORY BOOK.

Have past campers (all ages) gather pictures and camp stories and place them in an album. Then have the albums set out in a prominent place in the church for all to see and read what wonderful things happen at camp.

CREATE A CAMP WORSHIP CENTER

Fashion a natural worship center similar to those prepared in a camp setting. Use: rocks, sticks leaves, plants, branches, pinecones, seeds, shells, and etc.

WEAR CAMP CLOTHES TO WORSHIP

Encourage members to wear T-shirts, hiking boots, jeans, etc.

PREACH FROM A CANOE, OR LAWN CHAIR

Have sleeping bags, tent, fake campfire and other camp symbols arranged in the church.

USE CAMP CLIP ART

in bulletins and newsletters.

CAMP BREAKFAST

Serve breakfast to your youth and their families. Have persons (youth and adults) share their camp experiences.

CHILDREN'S PROCESSIONAL

During the opening hymn have children process to the altar carrying nature items. An adult should meet them at the altar to help place their items.

COUNSELOR SIGN-UP

Place a counselor recommendation sheet in the bulletin. Have those interested give their sheets to the pastor, Send them to the conference director of camps.

GO TO A PARK
FOR WORSHIP AND A PICNIC

Spread blankets on the ground or floor for worship and have a picnic with games, singing, and sharing of camp stories.

HAVE A BOX SOCIAL AUCTION

Have persons sell picnic lunch's in an auction. Use the funds from the auction for camp scholarships.
