Once a week at Penn Ave/Redemption and St. Luke’s/Redemption, a Sunday School class is offered during worship for the children who have a parent in prison.
The child’s parent may be one of the worshipping participants at Redemption, or the child may be one we met through New Day Camp.
Others come from Exodus House and they have a parent that has just been released from prison.
is a fellowship of prisoners, ex-prisoners, their families, and friends of faith. We seek to mold prison formed faith into the walk of discipleship.
The mission of Redemption Church is to cultivate and empower peer leaders who can reach out and help others with similar life experiences.
Inmates have the opportunity to visit with family members and even share a meal provided by churches or brought by family members. Having the opportunity to socialize in a relaxed environment is significant in allowing inmates to begin to think about transitioning back into community.
Worship is at a non-traditional times for most churches with a service on Sunday afternoon and on Thursdays evening
